Yahoo has decided to shut down the Yahoo Answers service, which has been around for more than 15 years

Yahoo has decided to abandon Yahoo Answers, one of the longest-running Q&A platforms on the Internet, from May 4.

Launched in 2005, the service has so far helped millions of users around the world find answers to their problems, and they plan to redirect it back to the Yahoo home page after visiting the Yahoo Answers website on May 4th.

However, The Verge website points out that they have decided to keep the questions posted so far and their answers the same.

They added that the ability to ask new questions will be blocked from next April 20 and the ability to request user data will be lost from June 30.

Yahoo points out that the reason for the closure is that over time, the Yahoo Answers platform has become less popular. It is further stated that they hope to direct their resources to something useful for their users in the future.
