MediaTek’s latest Dimensity 900 5G Chipset was officially announced recently (13.05.2021). This is the latest addition to the Dimension lineup and is powered by a high performance 6nm process.
An octa core CPU, the Dimensity 900 comes in two clusters, 2x Cortex-A78 cores at 2.4GHz for power and 6x Cortex-A55 units at 2 GHz for efficiency. It also includes a Dedicated AI Processing Unit (APU) for graphical processing as well as 4K HDR support, and uses the Arm Mali G68 MC4 as the Graphic Processing Unit (GPU).
Smartphones that come with a Dimension 900 5G SoC with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage standard will also be able to use Dual 5G support. It also supports Wi-Fi 6 Standard and 120Hz refresh rates, as well as a 108 MP resolution and 4K @ 30fps camera.
According to unofficial reports, the SoC will be accompanied by the upcoming Redmi Note 10 Series for China and several mido smartphones from Oppo and Vivo.
